James Lingwood è un curatore indipendente, produttore e scrittore attivo a Londra. È stato co-direttore di Artangel con Michael Morris dal 1991 al 2022. È stato curatore all’ICA di Londra dal 1986 al 1990, dove ha dato vita a numerose mostre, tra cui Gerhard Richter - 18 Oktober 1977 (1988); The Independent Group - Post-war Britain and the Aesthetics of Plenty (1990); Une Autre Objectivite (con Jean-François Chevrier) (1989); Possible Worlds: Sculpture from Europe (con Iwona Blazwick e Andrea Schlieker), ICA/Serpentine Gallery, Londra (1990).
